We start with two cute faces.  We're off to a good start!

On the staff retreat, we visited Mt. Bental.  The signpost there gives directions and distances to important nearby places: Baghdad - 800km (500 miles), Damascus 60km (35 miles). It doesn't bother Mark one bit that the enemy capitals are only a short drive away.  He is ready on his machine gun post!

Bill leads the other scouts on a perimeter search through the bunker trenches. On Mt. Hermon, we found a little snow.  Luke made a snowball but isn't quite sure what to do with it!

We did say a little snow, right?  On the whole of this 9000 foot high peak, there was only this one small pile. But that's all the kids needed! After they were done, there wasn't even one pile left on the mountain!

The adults enjoyed watching the kids.  You can see how we were bundled up; though there wasn't snow, it was cold. It didn't snow, but it did rain.  Interpretation of this picture: the road is covered with water.  Bill's car is on the sidewalk.  Our van followed right along!

No snow doesn't mean you can't sled!  Mark rode with Randy on a fast ride down the hill. We visited several museums on our trip, including this one of prehistoric man.  Here we join in the "evolutionary progress" of man.  After viewing the "evidence," we still wonder how anyone actually can believe this.

The kids' shoes were caked with mud after a hike through Odem Forest, and it gave us an opportunity for a picture.   Here is everyone eating breakfast at our hotel.  The mealtime issue for the boys was who got to sit next to Rachel.

Earlier in the month, the family surprised Todd in his Archaeology class with a birthday cake. Here are the three.  No, Mark is not older.  In Luke's words to him, "you're getting bigger sooner."
