After the fall semester ended, the IBEX staff took off on a three day retreat to Eilat.
It was nice and warm and we were on the Red Sea on one kind of boat or another on
all three days.
| The first thing we did was to go parasailing. Only Todd
did this. Kelli wasn't interested and Luke was told no by Mommy. But he
enjoyed watching Dad sail 100 feet above the waters of the Red Sea with 4 countries in
sight. |
The next day we did a cool hike up Mt. Zephahot, with a nice
overlook over Coral Beach and the Red Sea. It was near sunset and the granite
mountains were beautifully lit. Here Luke gets up the 850 ft. mountain the easy way. |

| Rest time at the top of the mountain |
On the last day our family went to Pharaoh's Island.
Here Kelli and Luke enjoy the hour-long boat ride. |
| Pharaoh's Island has some impressive medieval remains on it,
but what intrigues me is the possibility that this was the port of Solomon known as Ezion
Geber in the Bible. We can't know for certain at this point. |
Big beef steaks and tall glasses of orange juice made our
dinner at el-Gaucho very worthwhile. We need to have staff retreats more often.

Kari Roller doesn't have a web page, but if she did, she'd put this
picture on it. :-) |
